I don’t know about you, but I. Love. Drinks. As in, water, tea, iced tea, lemonade, lattes, iced lattes, fizzy drinks, the odd glass(es) of wine… the list goes on. And for any of those that you can make yourself, did you know that you can absolutely make a healthier version?

Heck yeah you can!

You don’t need the added sugar, flavour and even artificial colours that so many food manufacturers throw into the mix. Yuck. What you do need are real food ingredients at the ready. Allow me to help you with the rest.

Today, let’s talk lemonade. I don’t think I’ve met one person in my life who doesn’t like a cold lemonade on a hot day. Right?! This recipe requires only three ingredients (the fourth being an optional bonus) and about 60 seconds of your time. Doable? Yes. Delicious? Oh yeah.

Sweet & Tangy Lemonade

1 litre cold water
1/2 cup lemon juice (I like mine freshly squeezed)
24 drops liquid stevia (you can make it less or more sweet based on your taste)
1/8 tsp sea salt

Mix everything together. That’s literally it. Told you it was super fast! I do highly recommend the addition of sea salt because it adds valuable minerals, especially on a hot day when you’re gettin’ sweaty (and therefore losing electrolytes, AKA minerals, in your sweat). Trust me, you can’t even taste it so why not just throw it in there to better your health?

I love making a few batches at once and storing them in mason jars in the fridge for when you just want that *smacking lips* something. And this lemonade is a win-win: it’s hydrating, liver supporting and nutrient-rich, AND it’s frickin’ delicious and satisfying. I mean, COME ON!

What’s your fav summertime drink? Let me know below and I just might create my own healthy version! : )
